Easter

Every Easter we host—dinner, egg hunt, the whole dozen eggs.

Every year, I dread it—Easter always comes 3 weeks too early, the house is never ready, the yard less so, and I have no inspiration.  And every year, I am so glad we did it and I vow to do it the following year.

The Day of the Salamander

It looks like a salamander, which sounds better than just a lizard, but I found this little guy when I was ripping apart a falling garden wall and rebuilding it.  (Note: Dwayne put me in charge of it years ago, I think because it was small and hard to screw up.  Ha—don’t underestimate ME, baby!)

He was quickly loved, and the girls went to work building him a salamander resort.

Salamander passed the IQ test by disappearing during a popsicle break.
